Acts upstream of or within several processes, including JUN phosphorylation; negative regulation of intrinsic apoptotic signaling pathway; and regulation of transcription, DNA-templated. Located in several cellular components, including cell body; dendrite; and dentate gyrus mossy fiber. Is expressed in intestine smooth muscle circular layer; nervous system; renal vasculature; and sensory organ. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in type 2 diabetes mellitus.
