Located in several cellular components, including cell body; dendrite; and dentate gyrus mossy fiber. Is expressed in intestine smooth muscle circular layer; nervous system; renal vasculature; and sensory organ. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in type 2 diabetes mellitus.
