Acts upstream of or within several processes, including regulation of chondrocyte differentiation; regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II; and sensory organ development. Located in cytoplasm and nucleus. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; central nervous system; eye; genitourinary system; and lower leg. Used to study cataract 21 multiple types and multiple myeloma. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in Ayme-Gripp syndrome; cataract; and cataract 21 multiple types.
