    Enables calcium channel regulator activity. Involved in regulation of AMPA receptor activity and regulation of postsynaptic membrane neurotransmitter receptor levels. Located in Schaffer collateral - CA1 synapse; glutamatergic synapse; and postsynaptic density. Is integral component of postsynaptic density membrane. Part of L-type voltage-gated calcium channel complex. Is expressed in central nervous system and retina. Orthologous to human CACNG8 (calcium voltage-gated channel auxiliary subunit gamma 8).
